Musically speaking, think soulful vocals and heavy groove meets deep house remixes. Some have said "U2 meets Sara Bareilles/Alanis Morissette."

Socially, some have dubbed us
the "ultimate couple friend"--we think it has a nice ring to it. The two of us met many moons ago, in true Ross-and-Rachel fashion, while on tour. (We won't bore you with the sappy details ... just know that they're sappy.) We've been happily married since 2012.

On a personal level, we are two crazy kids with a shared big dream, lots of passion, and a love of life. Together, we encompass a symphony of beautiful things -- and not so beautiful things (life does have its challenges) -- all of which has brought us to this moment, shaping us and our art along the way.

Here are a few of our favorite things, things that have inspired us
to grow, to love and to play big:

  • Tunes: The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Alanis Morissette, Christina Aguilera, Disney!, Journey , John Mayer, The Police, Gin Blossoms, Rush, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Van Halen, Sara Bareilles -- we could go on and on and on and  ... you get the idea.
  • Words: William Shakespeare, Elizabeth Gilbert, Audrey Niffenegger and Steven King. And  #gratitude for the philosophers of our day, the people who challenge us to think bigger, better and outside the box -- The Dali Lama, Gabrielle Bernstein, Louise Hay.
  • Eats: Any delectable morsel from Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Mario Batali, Gwyneth Paltrow and Julia Child. Plus some of our own specialties: hello, bacon-wrapped dates with blue cheese and a balsamic reduction (and full glass o' red wine)!
  • Art: Michael Cheval, Picasso, Nano Lopez and Martin Machacek.
  • Nature: Is there anything better than being outside amongst the trees, or dipping your toes in crisp cool waters?
  • Those little moments: Exhaling on a yoga mat, sipping the morning's first cuppa Joe, putting your new favorite song on repeat, figuring out a drum pattern, the smell of fir tress, deep conversations with loved ones, the halfway point of a good book, a much-needed road trip, the pop of a champagne bottle.

Life is a series of moments, as are people -- and art. Add 'em all up and that, to us, is Echo Drop.

(And of course, a bio wouldn't be complete without professional history. We've included this below.)

Sean Mitchell (Drums, bass samples & vox: yes, all at the same time!)

Sean is a bon vivant and coffee-snob-in-training (with an odd affinity for Starbucks' Italian Roast). To quote the legendary Ron Burgundy, Sean is "kind of a big deal" in the drumming world, as the publisher of the globally read online drum magazine The Black Page (www.theblackpage.net). Playing professionally for over 18 years, Sean's tenure behind the kit has landed him on stages with Shania Twain, Bruce Kulick (Kiss), and Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel). Sean has studied under many drumming giants including Dom Famularo (international drum clinician), Mitch Dorge (Crash Test Dummies) and Zoro (Lenny Kravitz).

Jillian Mitchell (keys & vox)

Echo Drop's lead vocalist, Jill, is an avid book worm, certified Starbucks coffee master, one time Canadian Idol contestant and eternal music lover. Singing professionally for 15 years, she has opened for music industry legends Rik Emmett and Trooper. Jill has studied with Philadelphia-based vocal coach Owen "Fiidla" Brown (Mary J. Blige, Wyclef Jean) and Giovanna Gattuso (Venice Vocal Academy). She currently studies with L.A .celebrity vocal coach John Deaver (Cher, Amy Adams, Sara Bareilles).

"Dream so big it's silly. Laugh so hard it's obnoxious. Love so much it's impossible.

And don't you ever feel unintelligent.
And don't you ever apologize FOR WHO YOU ARE.
And don't you ever shrink so you can squeeze yourself into small places and small minds.

Grow. It's a big world. There's room. You fit. I promise."
